Besides Granite and Quartz slab products (used for counter tops), we offer Marble, Travertine, Slate, Tumbled Stone, and Ledger Stone in a huge selection of shades and finishes. Porcelain tile can be made to closely replicate natural stone, but many of our customers prefer the beauty and authenticity of the real thing.
Maintenance of Natural Stone
Natural stone is softer and more porous than porcelain tile and requires some maintenance. Natural stone has to be sealed in order to be used as a floor tile, and the seal must be refreshed every six to twelve months. Finding the right sealer is crucial to the upkeep of your floors, as sealer is necessary to repel water, dirt, and stains spilled on your stone. Premier Tiling offers a full line of sealers and cleaning products and can offer advice on what is best for your marble. Some things to consider before purchasing natural stone include:
- Floors must be regularly cleaned
- Spills need to be wiped up almost immediately
- Natural stone may add value to your home
- Foot traffic and movement of furniture in the area of flooring can damage natural stone
